The risk of falls is a common occurrence in hospitals and is an important indicator of patient safety. Patients treated in surgical inpatient wards have a higher potential risk of falls due to post-operative conditions, limited mobility, and the use of certain medications. One effort to prevent these incidents is through the management of fall risk markers, which aim to provide information to healthcare workers to be more vigilant in providing services to patients. This study aims to describe the implementation of fall risk marker management in surgical inpatient wards. This study used a descriptive method with an observation and documentation approach. The study was conducted at a type C referral hospital in South Sumatra Province for three weeks with a sample of sixteen respondents who were nurses in the inpatient ward. The research instrument used observation and documentation sheets compiled based on patient safety guidelines in hospitals. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by presenting the results in narrative form. The results showed that most nurses had implemented fall risk prevention measures effectively, such as educating patients and families, ensuring a safe environment, and installing fall risk markers. However, several actions were not consistently implemented by all nurses, requiring regular evaluation, supervision, and training to improve compliance with fall risk prevention practices.
