Abstract

Adolescence is a critical transition period marked by various physical changes and psychological maturation, this often causes teenagers to be very sensitive and prone to stress. Stress itself is a physical and mental reaction to an interest that causes tension and can affect the hormonal system in the body, one of which is menstrual cycle disorders. The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the level of stress experienced by adolescent girls and variations in their menstrual cycles. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to a sample of 11th grade teenage girls. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling with a total of 53 young women. Data analysis was carried out using statistical techniques, including univariate and bivariate analysis, to identify correlations between the variables studied. The results of the study indicate that among the 53 respondents, there is a significant relationship between stress levels and changes in menstrual cycles. Adolescent girls with higher stress levels tend to experience irregularities in their menstrual cycles compared to those with lower stress levels. The data show that the p-value < 0.05 (p-value = 0.019), meaning Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, indicating a significant relationship between stress levels and menstrual cycles. There is a significant relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle in grade 11 adolescent students, with  P-Value = 0.019 (< 0.05).This study recommends intervention programs that can help adolescents manage their stress more effectively, which in turn can help stabilize their menstrual cycles. Additionally, it is crucial for adolescents to recognize the symptoms of stress and develop good coping strategies to prevent the negative impacts of stress on their menstrual health. Keywords: Resilience, Stress, Adolescents
